Review: e.l.f's Flawless Finish Foundation

As most of you all have noticed e.l.f (short for eyes lips face), has really been making an impression in the beauty world  and they have been expanding their product line. So for a review today I will be discussing their Flawless Finish Foundation with SPF 15 in Almond. First off I must say I am grateful that they packaged the foundation in a PUMP bottle. This way we can have the most control of how much product is dispensed and thus decreases the chances of wasting the foundation. Thumbs up to e.l.f. for this thoughtful move. The foundation costs $6 (I picked mine up at Tar-jay Target, and it is .8oz/23g. That is not alot of product but this is the case with most foundation and once again I only paid $6 so I can't complain.

The foundation is oil free so this is great for me especially during the summer, I won't be overly oily and end up looking a hot mess. However, when applied the foundation leaves the skin with a healthy dewy look so if you're looking for a matte finish.....this foundation is not for you. What I absolutely love about this foundation is the smell...the foundation has a very pleasant smell to it, or atleast for me it does. Now there are only 6 different shades of foundation, for obvious reasons this poses quite a problem when trying to find your shade. Personally most of the times when selecting foundation or facial powders I would match up with caramel. But the caramel in the the e.l.f.'s line was far too light so I chose almond which was a bit darker. Even with this color it was still a tad bit too light for me, so when setting the foundation I would use my Covergirl Queen Collection matte lasting pressed  powder in Golden and this usually allows me to have a good ending result.

As for lasting power, the times I have worn this foundation, when it was time for me to take it off, the foundation was for the most part still on my face. I still had a pretty good coverage. On two occasions I wore the foundation for a party (this is typically when I use liquid foundation) and after sweating, eating and drinking the foundation stayed on until I removed it. For the coverage that you can expect with this foundation....I'll say you can expect to have a light to medium coverage. I normally use the foundation in addition with my Ruby Kisses 3D Face Creator (I use it as a concealer), and it gives my face a flawless finish. Overall, I would suggest this product to a friend...especially if they are looking for a good foundation on the inexpensive side.

Here is a picture of me wearing the foundation (in this situation I had not yet decided to use my Covergirl Queen Collection pressed powder in Golden) but even then the result wasn't a FAIL, lol.

I Ain't Saying She a Golddigger....But

Okay so in a previous post of a haul I had done (to see said post click here) I showed the new single shimmer eye-shadows from Wet n Wild. However, in the haul I did not feature three of the colors from the new line. Unplugged and Platinum I was not interested in; since then I have decided that I would like to get my hands on Unplugged. Anywho moving on, the only color I couldn't find but wanted was Golddigger. Two months later...after going to a job interview today....I walked into Duane Reade and came across this beauty....

That's right I finally came across the special display of the shimmer singles accompanied by the eyeliner, now mind you I would have never thought in a million years that any of the usual cosmetics retailers (Duane Reade,Walegreens,CVS etc.) would have a display of the line out this late. Regardless of the fact I was too ecstatic at my finding and immediately picked up Golddigger. It's the same usual price of $1.99 even though you receive an eyeliner in the pack. While I am writing this post (this is how excited I was at my find) I have not even opened the packaging or swatched the color so I can not give details and opinions on it. However, I will update this post at a later date and let you lovelies know my thoughts.

In the meantime here is another pic of Golddigger.....it is such a beautiful color to the eyes without even swatching it. Hopefully, it does not let me down. Anyone else loves their Golddigger? :-)

Bib-like Necklace ♥♥♥♥♥

Lovelies....I'm coming at you guys for another one of my great finds. This time I found a cu-yute accessory, a butterfly bib-like necklace. It's available in gold and silver but I chose gold because I don't really have much gold necklaces in my collection. I was super excited for this purchase because the emblem is bigger than normal, yet I still wouldn't consider it a bib necklace but it is pretty close to looking like one.

As you can see in the picture above there is much details to the butterfly and right down where the body of the butterfly is there are four medium sized rhinestones. The chain itself has a medium size and appears to be steady, giving me the opinion that the chain can be in good/wearable condition for some time to come. I bought the necklace at Rainbow's and I paid  $5.99 plus tax of course.

The necklace does have an adjustable chain that allows you to wear the chain as long as it can go or as short as you want. I prefer to wear it the shortest that the chain will allow it to go, it looks best that way especially when wearing tank top-like tops. I'd suggest to wear this necklace more so when you are wearing a regular plain tank top, that way you can dress up your outfit or avoid having too much going on, on your upper body. Here's a pic showing the adjustable chain of the necklace. You can also see the four rhinestones in the butterfly's body much clearer.

Since purchasing the necklace on Friday I have worn it on both Saturday and Sunday, I just can't get enough of it. An absolutely best buy. What do you guys think of my chic bib-like necklace?

#NOTW: NYX's PURE GREEN

Hi lovelies...I'm back once again and it's a quick post for the #NOTW. This week once again I have on NYX (NYX polishes are selling for dirt cheap at my local beauty supply, hence the popularity of the brand on my blog)....the color is Pure Green. Pure Green is like the name suggests, it is 100% green, no shimmer or glitter just a plain old forest green. It's the most gorgeous green I have ever worn or own. Here's a pic of Pure Green in natural sunlight while outside.

Isn't it just beautiful, I'm def going to rock this color more often.

Yet the pigmentation of Pure Green isn't that great, I had to put on three coats just to achieve the color you see above. The first coat was extremely thin to the point where the natural color of my nails were more than visible. But the second coat fixed that right up, a girl could leave the nail-polish with just two coats. However, I found that in order for the true beauty of the color to be displayed a third coat was needed. Overall even with the pigmentation not being of the best quality, the ending result is absolutely pretty and I recommend Pure Green for a cute look.

#NOTW: NYX's Dark Beige ft. Soo Nail's Gold.

It's that time again lovelies....it's time for the #nailsoftheweek. And this week I decided to keep it simple and on the warm tone side of things. Especially since I have been rocking lots of greens and teals previously.

The color in the bottle (NYX's Dark Beige) unfortunately did not match up with the actual color that was applied to my nails, in the bottle it appeared to be between a light and medium tone "beige" but it turned out to be more of a dark brown. I was definitely disappointed about this, but the consistency and application of the nail-polish was great and easy.  I decided to do the accent finger in gold utilizing Soo Nail's Gold and to then add NYX's Prismatic Gold (it's a glitter) on top however....I decided not to and to just keep it at a minimal. This was the final result......

Simple but cute right?!?!
