Can This Even Be Classified As A Haul?

Hi lovelies. *waves* I literally picked up a few items while I happened to make a stop at one of my "happy places"...Tar-jay Target. Here's a pic of my little bundle of joy....

I had heard good things about Baby Lips and great things about the 24hr Color Tattoo so naturally I had to try them out. Curiosity led me to try out the e.l.f's defining eye brush and the inexpensive travel sized Pond's cleansing wipes caused me to pick it up as well. I will go through a brief opinion about each product excepting the Baby Lips. I want to do a separate post for that, I so pleased with this purchase. :-)

First of I would like to discuss the elf's defining eye brush,I use this brush to apply my highlight color right under the brows. And I absolutely love it. The application goes smoothly and it does a good job at finishing blending out my crease color with the highlight.

Up next is Maybelline's 24hr Color Tattoo.

I purchased the color Tough as Taupe cause I saw MakeupJunkiiee18 use it in one of her looks. I fell in love with the color immediately. Unlike MakeupJunkiiee18 I did not use it as an eye-shadow but rather like most consumers I used it as a base. I had no problems with creasing and my eye-shadow as with any other good base was very opaque. I must say that Tough as Taupe is a color/shade that is quite unique.

It is a mixture of a light brown and gray which I guess is exactly the description of taupe! Lol. I have the color tattoo sitting in my make-up drawer in the summer heat of NY and it has not even melted or become a sloppy consistency. Definitely a good thing, when I applied it to my eyelids it wasn't as creamy as NYX's jumbo pencils but at the same time I did not have to rub on my eyes for dear life to apply it. To sum it up I have no regrets purchasing this product. Here's a better view of Tough as Taupe in natural lighting.

Please don't mind my nails. * embarrassed face*

And here are some pictures of swatches that I took....

As for the Pond's cleansing wipes I don't have much to say about it cause I have yet to use them. I usually use my Absolute! Aloe wipes to remove my make-up, the Pond's being a travel size product I thought I would use them when I was not at home and needed all my make-up messiness off of my face. When I actually try them out I may write a review/opinion for you guys. If not I am sure you all can find other reviews out there on the wipes.

Now if you would like to see my separate review of the Baby Lips please click here

Baby Back Lips?

Okay so one of the best products to ever touch my lips...is Baby Lips by Maybelline. And as such I had to come and write a post for you lovelies to share my thoughts on this wonderful lippie!

I currently own two of the Baby Lips the first one purchased was Grape Vine and then because I loved the hell out it and I initially wanted the Cherry Me I returned and bought it. The packaging I think is just "cute" nothing too fabulous but it's not too shabby either. Unlike the Wet n Wild's chap-stick Baby Lips packaging doesn't feel nor appear to be cheap. After a couple of uses it does seem like the lid doesn't snap unto the stick of the chap-stick as tight as before but it poses no big issue.

There is a good amount of product (as seen in the above picture) and for someone with huge lips and a tendency to always need a lippie to keep my lips moisturized it is still holding up well and I have yet to finish one. And for the price of $4.99...for a chap-stick I would expect besides good quality a good amount of product. So thumbs up to Maybelline for at least matching the price up with the quantity of product.

Now lets move onto the actual effects Baby Lips has on the lips. First off they claim it gives you eight hours of hydration and visibly renewed lips in four weeks. I have never had a chap-stick moisturize my lips as well as Baby Lips. Sometimes if I slip up and swipe the product more than twice on  my lips it becomes overbearingly greasy. So I definitely suggest being careful when applying. But regardless of this I can not say I have had eight hours of hydration using Baby Lips.

However, here are some pictures of my lips a bit dried and then the moisturizing effect of Baby Lips (Grape Vine) on my lips.

As you can see Baby Lips does a fantastic job at hydrating the lips. And the smell of the products are divine as well. As for color payoff...personally I can't see any color from the grape not a purpl-ish tint or a red-ish tint from the cherry Baby Lips. There are four other shades Quenched, Peppermint, Pink Punch and Peach Kiss. From my understanding Pink Punch has great color payoff and Peach Kiss has a decent amount of payoff as well.

I love Baby Lips and would recommend this product to you lovelies out there, but if you're looking for color payoff as well as hydration...Baby Lips may not be for you. Otherwise...what are you waiting for...head out to your local Walegreens, Target, Duane Reade, CVS etc and pick you up some!

A Strawberry Shortcake Parfait?!?

Hey lovelies I wanted to come on and just do a very quick (hopefully, lol) post of a delicious desert that I tried out the other day. As the heading illustrates I had a strawberry shortcake parfait from Wendy's. Basically it consisted of vanilla ice-cream, strawberry syrup, one or two slices of strawberry, whip cream at the top and of course some shortcakes crumbs. The size that I purchased was $1.49 and I wasn't disappointed with the taste or the size of the desert.

Trust me guys I found nothing "wrong" or disappointing with this piece of heaven. For me the size was just right cause anything bigger wouldn't have been good for my diet. The price as well was suited for the size of the cup and the taste was incredible. I would def suggest that the next time any one of you all go to Wendy's to try out the strawberry shortcake parfaits. You will not be let down!

#NOTW: Marble Finesse

Okay so I have been slipping on my blog posts! I am so sorry for that but it does not mean that I have stopped taking pictures for the blog or that I stopped thinking about you guys    :-). So to start of my return back from my little hiatus I am bringing to you guys a #NOTW. This was last week's nails and it was a marble design, I really do love this design simple cause it loos pretty and it brings out a very creative side to a person. Without further delay here is a picture of the nails.

I should also mention that this was my very first attempt  at a marble design such as this one. I used four colors: TLC, Pastel Purple and Pastel Blue from KleanColor and a White from Soo Nails. To blend the colors in I should have used a toothpick but I did not have one so I used a needle and it didn't do too bad, I love this design and the next marble design I create I think I will use less colors. I would also like to inform you all that I learned and got inspiration for these nails from Chelsea of Get Nailed. If you would like to see that video just click here.

Let me know what you guys think of my first attempt at marble nails.

#NOTW: Wet N Wild's "Bite the Bullet"

I am terribly sorry lovelies I am extremely late with this week's #NOTW post...but better late than never, is what I say. :-) Anyways moving on...this week I was very excited to go into Walgreens and pick up some more of the new Megalast nail-polishes from Wet N Wild. And it goes without saying that I had to try one out immediately. I chose to use Bite the Bullet and it is a gorgeous purple/mauve/eggplant color, lmao that's the best way I can describe the colors guys. The pictures I have taken do NOT correctly illustrate it's color. Anyways, I painted all my fingers with Bite the Bullet, but decided to do a paint splatter effect on my ring fingers. I chose a black from L.A. Colors, a deep purple for NK and then I Need a Refresh-Mint from Wet N Wild. This was the result......

The above picture was taken in natural sunlight outside.

The application of this polish was FLAWLESS!!!!! It went on smoothly and beautifully and one coat of this nail-polish was pigmented enough to leave as is, but I must have some type of issue where regardless of the intense pigmentation of one coat of a nail-polish I still HAVE to apply two coats. It dried fairly well...as for chipping it did not last any longer than any other of my nail-polishes. Still a nail-polish this gorgeous, pigmented and with a unique color I would definitely suggest you guys to pick it up! ;-)

Review: e.l.f's Flawless Finish Foundation

As most of you all have noticed e.l.f (short for eyes lips face), has really been making an impression in the beauty world  and they have been expanding their product line. So for a review today I will be discussing their Flawless Finish Foundation with SPF 15 in Almond. First off I must say I am grateful that they packaged the foundation in a PUMP bottle. This way we can have the most control of how much product is dispensed and thus decreases the chances of wasting the foundation. Thumbs up to e.l.f. for this thoughtful move. The foundation costs $6 (I picked mine up at Tar-jay Target, and it is .8oz/23g. That is not alot of product but this is the case with most foundation and once again I only paid $6 so I can't complain.

The foundation is oil free so this is great for me especially during the summer, I won't be overly oily and end up looking a hot mess. However, when applied the foundation leaves the skin with a healthy dewy look so if you're looking for a matte finish.....this foundation is not for you. What I absolutely love about this foundation is the smell...the foundation has a very pleasant smell to it, or atleast for me it does. Now there are only 6 different shades of foundation, for obvious reasons this poses quite a problem when trying to find your shade. Personally most of the times when selecting foundation or facial powders I would match up with caramel. But the caramel in the the e.l.f.'s line was far too light so I chose almond which was a bit darker. Even with this color it was still a tad bit too light for me, so when setting the foundation I would use my Covergirl Queen Collection matte lasting pressed  powder in Golden and this usually allows me to have a good ending result.

As for lasting power, the times I have worn this foundation, when it was time for me to take it off, the foundation was for the most part still on my face. I still had a pretty good coverage. On two occasions I wore the foundation for a party (this is typically when I use liquid foundation) and after sweating, eating and drinking the foundation stayed on until I removed it. For the coverage that you can expect with this foundation....I'll say you can expect to have a light to medium coverage. I normally use the foundation in addition with my Ruby Kisses 3D Face Creator (I use it as a concealer), and it gives my face a flawless finish. Overall, I would suggest this product to a friend...especially if they are looking for a good foundation on the inexpensive side.

Here is a picture of me wearing the foundation (in this situation I had not yet decided to use my Covergirl Queen Collection pressed powder in Golden) but even then the result wasn't a FAIL, lol.

I Ain't Saying She a Golddigger....But

Okay so in a previous post of a haul I had done (to see said post click here) I showed the new single shimmer eye-shadows from Wet n Wild. However, in the haul I did not feature three of the colors from the new line. Unplugged and Platinum I was not interested in; since then I have decided that I would like to get my hands on Unplugged. Anywho moving on, the only color I couldn't find but wanted was Golddigger. Two months later...after going to a job interview today....I walked into Duane Reade and came across this beauty....

That's right I finally came across the special display of the shimmer singles accompanied by the eyeliner, now mind you I would have never thought in a million years that any of the usual cosmetics retailers (Duane Reade,Walegreens,CVS etc.) would have a display of the line out this late. Regardless of the fact I was too ecstatic at my finding and immediately picked up Golddigger. It's the same usual price of $1.99 even though you receive an eyeliner in the pack. While I am writing this post (this is how excited I was at my find) I have not even opened the packaging or swatched the color so I can not give details and opinions on it. However, I will update this post at a later date and let you lovelies know my thoughts.

In the meantime here is another pic of Golddigger.....it is such a beautiful color to the eyes without even swatching it. Hopefully, it does not let me down. Anyone else loves their Golddigger? :-)

Bib-like Necklace ♥♥♥♥♥

Lovelies....I'm coming at you guys for another one of my great finds. This time I found a cu-yute accessory, a butterfly bib-like necklace. It's available in gold and silver but I chose gold because I don't really have much gold necklaces in my collection. I was super excited for this purchase because the emblem is bigger than normal, yet I still wouldn't consider it a bib necklace but it is pretty close to looking like one.

As you can see in the picture above there is much details to the butterfly and right down where the body of the butterfly is there are four medium sized rhinestones. The chain itself has a medium size and appears to be steady, giving me the opinion that the chain can be in good/wearable condition for some time to come. I bought the necklace at Rainbow's and I paid  $5.99 plus tax of course.

The necklace does have an adjustable chain that allows you to wear the chain as long as it can go or as short as you want. I prefer to wear it the shortest that the chain will allow it to go, it looks best that way especially when wearing tank top-like tops. I'd suggest to wear this necklace more so when you are wearing a regular plain tank top, that way you can dress up your outfit or avoid having too much going on, on your upper body. Here's a pic showing the adjustable chain of the necklace. You can also see the four rhinestones in the butterfly's body much clearer.

Since purchasing the necklace on Friday I have worn it on both Saturday and Sunday, I just can't get enough of it. An absolutely best buy. What do you guys think of my chic bib-like necklace?

#NOTW: NYX's PURE GREEN

Hi lovelies...I'm back once again and it's a quick post for the #NOTW. This week once again I have on NYX (NYX polishes are selling for dirt cheap at my local beauty supply, hence the popularity of the brand on my blog)....the color is Pure Green. Pure Green is like the name suggests, it is 100% green, no shimmer or glitter just a plain old forest green. It's the most gorgeous green I have ever worn or own. Here's a pic of Pure Green in natural sunlight while outside.

Isn't it just beautiful, I'm def going to rock this color more often.

Yet the pigmentation of Pure Green isn't that great, I had to put on three coats just to achieve the color you see above. The first coat was extremely thin to the point where the natural color of my nails were more than visible. But the second coat fixed that right up, a girl could leave the nail-polish with just two coats. However, I found that in order for the true beauty of the color to be displayed a third coat was needed. Overall even with the pigmentation not being of the best quality, the ending result is absolutely pretty and I recommend Pure Green for a cute look.

#NOTW: NYX's Dark Beige ft. Soo Nail's Gold.

It's that time again lovelies....it's time for the #nailsoftheweek. And this week I decided to keep it simple and on the warm tone side of things. Especially since I have been rocking lots of greens and teals previously.

The color in the bottle (NYX's Dark Beige) unfortunately did not match up with the actual color that was applied to my nails, in the bottle it appeared to be between a light and medium tone "beige" but it turned out to be more of a dark brown. I was definitely disappointed about this, but the consistency and application of the nail-polish was great and easy.  I decided to do the accent finger in gold utilizing Soo Nail's Gold and to then add NYX's Prismatic Gold (it's a glitter) on top however....I decided not to and to just keep it at a minimal. This was the final result......

Simple but cute right?!?!

Just a Quickie!

Hey ya'll....I'm coming real quick to let you guys see this cu-yute bedroom/indoor slippers I found while shopping on Saturday.

Come on girlies how cute and sex-say is this slipper?!?!? Especially for us girlies here in the beauty world to have a slipper as this just fits right in with who we are and the passion we eat, drink and sleep. Or.... at least that's how I feel. The shade of pink shown in the pic is pretty much true to color as it is in person. As you can see on the slippers there are stitchings of  combs, mirrors and blow dryers; the usual icons to represent the beauty world. The slipper is very soft, comfortable and the sole is thick so there's not a hint of the hard ground beneath me. I picked them up at Century 21 and they were on sale for $8.97. I just love them, they are too fierce. I would absolutely cherish them, hope to take care of them so they last a long time, and now that I think about it, I should have gotten a back up. Lol. What you guys think about my funky slippers?!?!?!?!?

ELF's Conditioning Lip Balm w/ SPF 15

While battling a throat infection (yes I know horrible) I took my cousin from out of town shopping Downtown Brooklyn (Fulton Street Mall). We had to stroll through a kind of fave store of mine -_-.....Brooklyn Ladies. While in there I finally decided to pick up the ELF's Conditioning Lip Balm w/ SPF 15 in Peaceful Pink. It's part of the studio line so it cost $3.00 and as the eye-shadow pigments, cream eye-shadows, and cream eyeliners it's in the over sized packaging with not much product. The lip balm is creamy and soft, the color payoff is fantastic, what you see in the container is what will appear on your lips...true to color!

And of course to have SPF 15 in the product just makes it all the much better. The only downside to this product is that if the lips aren't moisturized or are chapped and the lip balm is applied you will have streaks of the product stuck in the ridges of the lips. This is not a good look...trust,lol. Other than that the product has a nice smell and I'm loving it.

#NOTW: Sinful Color's Gorgeous ft FLAKIES....again. :-)

This week's #nailsoftheweek is Sinful Color's Gorgeous with one coat of Essie's flaky in Shine of the Times. I wanted to do something simple, cute and something that would take the least amount of time to dry. So I came to this result. Gorgeous is a metalic-ky teal color much similar to Wet n Wild's Caribbean Frost. I started the process of doing my nails with not much time to spare as I was going to the movies not too long after. So I decided to put on only one coat of Gorgeous and topped it off with Essie's SOTT and I was done in no time. The duo doesn't exactly go hand in hand but I somehow seem to like it, I think the flaky gives it a "how'd you do that" effect to the nails. What do you guys think?

St. Patty's Day ♥

For St. Patrick's Day I was too ecstatic that Burger King was having GREEN ketchup as a promotion (along with a free small fries, but this I wasn't concerned about). And yes, I am a sucker for packaging and things of this nature. I already figured that it probably was indeed ketchup and tasted just like the red ketchup I was used to. But I still made the hubby take me to Burger King to try it out.

Well.....just as I suspected....it was indeed and very much tasted like regular red ketchup....excepting it was dyed green. I got great happiness to be able to say I had green ketchup, regardless of how silly it may seem. I hope you all also had the opportunity to have green ketchup as well, lol. I don't know it was just cool to be eating food that green with it being out of the norm. Great experience and great marketing on Burger King's part as well.

NOTW: NYX's Sexy Plum ft. FLAKIES!

Okay lovelies this week's nail-polish action is NYX's Sexy Plum which happens to be a very dark maroon color. Pretty much just like the name suggests....a plum color. And layered on that on all fingers excepting the accent finger is Essie's Shine  of the Times. On the accent finger layered on Sexy Plum is Sinful Color's Green Ocean, both Green Ocean and Shine of the Times as seen in the above pic are FLAKIES. They are too gorgeous and to die for. I think my nails looks absolutely fab-u-lous....anyone else loving these flakies?

I've Been Hauling

That's right guys I have a small-medium sized haul for you all. I shopped at Walgreens, Duane Reade, Tar-jay Target, and Brooklyn Divas. I picked up some make-up, two nail-polishes and a little something else, lol. But I was too excited and blown away by my acquirement of the new Wet n Wild shimmer single line!!!! *screams* Yes the line is already available in stores (as some of you may already know and have seen), I picked up some of the new shades and have pics and a review for you guys.

Okay so first up is the single eye-shadow Panther that is replacing the discontinued eye-shadow Penny from Wet n Wild's single eye-shadow line. And if your heart just started to give out on you cause you are absolutely lost as to what I just informed you of click here for a list of Wet n Wild's discontinued products. But back to topic at hand....here is a pic of Panther.

Panther is matte black eye-shadow with absolutely no shimmer or glitter. It's somewhat of a dark black, which is great for me for when I choose to add a little black to my "outer v". With a black such as Panther there's no fear of adding too much black to the eyes. It's as smooth as butter.

Next is Trashed it is one of the colors from the new line, shimmer single eye-shadow. It is an extremely dark, pigmented black with silver glitter sprinkled throughout. At first glance you may assume that it is the same black from the LE Wet n Wild's 6 pan eye-shadow palette in Night Elf but let me put your mind to rest, they are not the same. Night Elf is no where as dark or pigmented as Trashed. Here is Trashed.

Up next is Sellout, when the first few displays pics made it's way around the blogs the pictures gave the impression that it was a red. But instead it is indeed a pink. Neither a fuchsia pink nor a bubble gum pink, it's another eye-shadow that is smooth as butter, the pigmentation is great as well. So here it is...

Glamrock is a middle toned purple with blue undertones to it, the consistency when swatched was a bit chalky. A definite disappointment. At first I was hesitant about picking up this eye-shadow cause I initially thought it was quite similar to Kitten by the same company....Wet n Wild. However I still purchased it and upon comparison, it is no where near as similar as Kitten.Kitten is a lighter purple with gold undertones, equally as beautiful to me. Here is Glamrock

A side by side view of Kitten and Glamrock....respectfully (Kitten is on the left and Glamrock on the right).

Lastly from the new line is Stage Dive, this shadow is one of those shadows that's it's hard to state which color it actually is or at least for me. It's a royal purple or purply blue whichever way you would like to think of it. Stage Dive is absolutely gorgeous and pigmented. No doubt about it, it's a unique color. And here it is....

In my haul I also picked up some Elf products, I picked up the quad in Glam. On the Elf's website I can not find the quad but yet I have it in my possession, not sure how to feel about this, lol. There's a bubble gum pink, black with pink glitter, fuchsia, and a pink with gold undertones. The quad as the rest of the Elf's quads are a bit chalky.

In addition I was too excited to pick up a cream eye-shadow from Elf, in Teal Party. The color surely caught my attention, it is a teal with gold undertones and something like an olive green, if you get me. Teal Party was smooth and soft as well as pigmented, a great buy.

Now onto the two nail-polishes that I picked up the first one is from the Wet n Wild's remake of the Megalast nail-polish. It's called Club Havana, and it is a sex-say coral/peach, quite bright as well as being one of those nail-polishes that you take off before there were any chips. It's actually very similar to Blazed by Wet n Wild, I see no need to purchase both but hey...it's all your choice. Here's Club Havana

The next polish is by Sinful Colors (my fave nail-polish brand) and IT IS A FLAKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! So you can imagine that this was a definite treat for me. As all flakies it is a top coat with a clear base and obviously green junks of glitter. However, when applied over a black base the glitters have a dual color of green and blue. Here is a pic of Green Ocean

The last product I will share with you lovelies is a matte lasting pressed powder from The Queen Collection for Covergirl. It is in Golden and is a replacement for the discontinued Queen Collection mineral hue powder. It's a powder so it goes without saying that it is light coverage but you can build upon it. As far as it being matte this is true but lasting I'm not willing to agree with. So here's the pic

If you would like to see swatches you can check out this video I posted on YouTube.

Let me know which products you guys are loving, what you think about the discontinued products from Wet n Wild and are your crazy over flakies as I am?
